The Beavers Family
The Beavers family moved to Fort Collins after experiencing the disheartening housing market of a Colorado tourist town. After hearing about Habitat and volunteering on-site, they agreed that this could be a great opportunity for them.
“Building our own home has long been a dream of ours and we are excited to be partnering with Habitat for Humanity! Homeownership is an opportunity we weren’t sure we would have after moving four times in the last five years. Being chosen to purchase a Habitat home means financial stability and the ability to support our children in their future education and life aspirations. We can finally let go of our fear of homelessness and begin working toward an abundant future for our family. Thank you again for helping our dreams come true!”
The Bhatti Family
The Bhatti family recently immigrated to the United States to escape religious persecution in their native country of Pakistan. Leaving everything they knew behind, including good paying jobs and any advantage of their higher education, they struggled to make ends meet.
“We have faith in God and He provided a better job. Next, we wanted to have a house for our children where they can grow and play with freedom. We came to know about Habitat for Humanity through an advertisement and we thought it is the answer to our prayers.”
For the Whaley family, a Habitat home means the safety of putting down permanent roots and never having to move again.
“When we learned we had been selected, I was at a loss for words and still am. This is a dream come true and the biggest blessing I could ever ask for. The security of owning our own home means so much for my son’s future. His life will always include unique challenges but the stability of a Habitat home will allow him to achieve so many milestones because he will feel safe now. Through this opportunity, we will have a foundation to continue growing and learning and building our lives in Fort Collins.”
The Rosales Family
The Rosales family is no stranger to hard times and credits their difficulties with making them stronger and more resilient.
“We have laughed, cried, argued, and held each other, all the while sharing a dream of owning a home of our own. I promised myself and my kids that I would work as hard as I could to buy our own home; I didn’t know how I was going to do it but I was determined. I really don’t have words to describe what I felt when I learned we had been selected to build and purchase a Habitat home. I thought, ‘God is answering my prayers and that this is my time to shine.’ Now we can’t wait to start working on our home, to finally have our happily ever after, and continue our partnership with Habitat to help even more families accomplish their dream of homeownership.”
Having lived in several towns along the Front Range, the Swift family is ready to have a permanent place to call their own.
“Both my director and my neighbor told me what a great opportunity Habitat is and that it would be a rewarding experience. I was ecstatic when I found out we were chosen; it was like winning the Publishers Clearing House Sweepstake! Our home will be a place we can grow into and a place to make lots of memories. It will be ours to enjoy for many, many years and I hope that our future leads us to more happiness, friends, and family because you can never have too much.”
The Strodtman Family
Through hard work, help from their amazing family, and the grace of God, the Strodtman family has overcome adversity and maintained their positive outlook on the future.
“I am at a loss for words knowing we’ve been selected to build and purchase a Habitat home. It’s a dream come true! We will no longer have to worry about moving from place to place, living with different people but will now have a permanent place to call home. This opportunity changes both of our lives. I will have the stability to continue my education in health care and be a better provider for my family. Thank you Habitat, thank you Habitat volunteers, and thank you, God! Our lives will never be the same!”
Like many other Fort Collins residents, the Laughlin family knows the challenge of keeping up with the rising rental costs.
“It is so high and keeps increasing which is concerning and makes me question whether we’ll be able to afford housing in the future. We were very shocked and happy hearing the news that we had been selected to be a new Partner Family – we went to Dairy Queen to celebrate! Having a place that is affordable is great; that place being my permanent home is fantastic! We are very humbled to have received this opportunity.”
