Used Vehicles: Helping Local Families Go Places

The FCHFH ReStore is a licensed car dealer and is committed to selling reliable used vehicles that will allow families and students to have dependable transportation. The FCHFH ReStore is always looking for used cars, trucks, boats, RVs, motorcycles and construction vehicles that are running or can be repaired to a safe, running condition for under $500.  The FCHFH ReStore has partnered with local mechanics to check and repair the used vehicles at a discounted rate.  Each used vehicle is thoroughly checked for safety and reliability to ensure that we are 100 percent confident in the used vehicles we sell.  We generally sell the used vehicles between $600 and $3000, and are typically priced below average retail or “blue-book” price.

For more information about available used vehicles, or if you wish to donate your vehicle, Contact Mark Foster, Vehicle Department Manager, at (970) 488.2702.

Donate and Divert Reusable Items From the Local Landfills

Donation drop-off hours: Monday - Saturday 9 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Community donations sustain the FCHFH ReStore.  The FCHFH ReStore accepts overstocked items, used, discontinued and salvageable building materials, home improvement items and major appliances donated by builders, contractors, manufacturers and individuals. We reclaim items that are still useful and usable and sell those items at reasonable prices.  Before taking a trip to the landfill, stop by the ReStore to see if we are able to resell your reusable furnishings and building materials.

Typical donations include, but are not limited to:

•    Windows and doors
•    Flooring and tile (but not used carpeting)
•    Plumbing fixtures and hardware
•    Lighting and electrical hardware
•    Sheet goods, roofing and HVAC
•    Cabinets and cabinet hardware
•    Furniture, appliances and other household goods
•    Tools and Equipment

Through a new community partnership, Habitat can now accept clothing, textiles and household goods, too.  It won’t be adding these to the store inventory for sale but instead will collect these items and sell them to a third-party recycling company, Recycle That, which will, in turn, recycle or repurpose these donations.

Recycle That, LLC, is a for-profit company that provides non-profit organizations like Habitat with easy, no cost, no risk fundraising programs that promote the recycling of clothing, accessories, books and household goods utilizing donation centers, donation boxes and special events within the community.   The donations Habitat sells to Recycle That will not only raise more money for Habitat’s building program but continue another of the ReStore’s missions of keeping items out of the landfill.

Click here for a list of general guidelines to follow when making donations to the ReStore.

You may bring donations between 9 a.m and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Saturday.  Your donation may be eligible for a tax deduction.  We will provide you with a donation receipt.  Is the item you’d like to donate too large to fit in your vehicle? We’ll pick it up!

To schedule a pick-up, contact Donations Coordinator, Lynne Garrett by phone at (970) 488-2703 or by e-mail at lgarrett@habitatstore.org.

Our staff and/or drivers visually inspect all items before accepting them as donations.  Occasionally we find something we are unable to accept and at times we have too many of a particular item and have no room in our warehouse or on our sales floor.  If we are unable to accept your item, we will do our best to help you find other locations that will.

Volunteer at the ReStore

Volunteer Check-in times: Monday-Saturday 9 a.m. OR 1 p.m.

FCHFH offers many volunteer opportunities to members of the community.  You don’t have to build at the construction site to help further the Habitat mission.  The ReStore needs volunteers every day.

The FCHFH ReStore depends on community donations and purchases.  New items are received daily that need to be cleaned, tested and moved into our warehouse and onto the sales floor.  Volunteer duties may include: customer service, cleaning and dusting furniture/appliances, loading/unloading donated items, detailing vehicle donations, rearranging furniture and more.

Groups and individuals who are at least 16 years and older are welcome.  New volunteers may start at 9 a.m. or 1 p.m. any day of the week, Monday through Saturday.  Volunteering at the store can get a bit dirty, so please wear closed-toed shoes, T-shirts and jeans or shorts.  Fort more information and to sign up to volunteer click here.

If you have questions about volunteering, please contact Debbie Pyles by phone at (970) 461-0744.
